Genesis 1:4 is the fourth verse of the first chapter in the Genesis. It is the response to God's command in verse 3, "Let there be Light." It is part of the Torah portion Bereshit (Genesis 1:1-4)
Everything God created is good (1:10, 12, 18, 21, 25); in fact the conclusion states "very good" (1:31). The creation was orderly and purpose, not chaotic and meaningless.
